The RIPP Lab is Looking for Research Assistants!
Get in at the ground level! You will join Dr. Zachary Roth’s new lab and help shape the direction of the lab’s first major research project examining extreme belief systems and prejudice.
Remote or in-person! Research assistants typically volunteer for a minimum of 5 hours/week for the Fall 2024 semester. Work can be completed in either an in-person or remote context.
Professional experience! You will gain experience and skills that translate to a variety of occupations. This position would be especially helpful for those interested in a career in research or for those who intend to apply to graduate programs.

Position Responsibilities

Attend weekly lab meetings in-person or via Zoom.

Maintain up to date professional research and ethics training.

Assist in constructing research materials, measures, and experimental procedures.

Organize, filter, and code qualitative data.

Build online surveys and experiments using specialized software.

Conducting literature searches and summarizing pertinent information

Various responsibilities that arise in the process of data collection/analysis
Position Requirements
-
No prior research experience required.

Current UMA student in good standing
-
Competency in basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom, etc.)

Excellent writing and communication abilities
-
Must have completed PSY 100 (Introduction to Psychology)

Academic interest in ideology, prejudice, religion and/or politics
